And suddenly, just like that, we’re in the midst of autumn.
Grey clouds are hovering in the sky and rain is pouring, running down the faces of the few people who are daring or having to brave the elements.
Soon it will be cold enough to light fires, logs crackling in fireplaces and rooms exhaling this woody and smoky scent recognizable as autumn’s aroma. For the time being we can already enjoy the taste of pumpkins and butternuts, of chestnuts and apples, of hot chocolates and grilled marshmallows. We can also enjoy walks in the woods, filling our lungs with the smell of mushrooms and decaying leaves. And let’s not forget to thank the trees for their beautiful green summer foliage that lasted for so long this year and to wish them goodnight before they get to sleep.
